If Skipr.TV can uphold this claim without getting sued into oblivion, this would truly be legendary.  As they continue to gain traction and advance their product further, it will be very interesting to see how the humongous media moguls take this stab directly at their wallets.

Skipr.TV is creating an entire new way to interact and engage with your TV.  From automatically switching to customizable content that is favorable to you, allowing you access to Google Play apps during commercial breaks, and most importantly, avoiding seeing any advertisements ever again.  Also, it can automatically skip over commercial breaks of your recorded shows on your DVR.

They are initially starting with the major broadcast channels and from there will target user specified/voted on channels to add to the mix.

One of the lead engineers gives some further insight on this Reddit post.  Here are some quick preliminary hardware specs:

  • 4K2K UltraHD resolution
  • Quad-Core 2GHz processor
  • ARM 8-Core GPU
  • 1G DDR3 RAM
  • Android 5.x OS

They also launched a new FAQ if you have any further questions about this incredible concept.
